Every minute matters when someone needs blood.

One Drop is a volunteer blood-donor network run by the students of Notre Dame College, Dhaka. We connect families in urgent need with willing donors nearby — matched by blood group, filtered by district, sorted by distance — so the right phone call happens in minutes, not hours.

Live emergency board

People waiting for blood right now

Every request below was posted by a family member or a hospital volunteer, and each one carries a live countdown. If your blood group matches, a single call from you could end someone’s worst night.

The network today

A living directory, not a static list

These figures move in real time — a new registration, a donor returning from cooling-off, a request marked fulfilled. Behind every number is a person who said, “call me when you need me.”

Start with a blood group

Which blood group do you need?

Choose a group to open the directory pre-filtered, with a live count of donors currently available.

Know before you call

Blood compatibility, in ten seconds

When an exact match is unavailable, hospitals often accept compatible alternatives. This chart shows who is worth calling first — the final decision always rests with the blood bank.

How it works

Three steps between a request and a donor

1

Post the need

A family member or hospital volunteer posts the patient’s blood group, hospital and the time by which the blood is needed. The request goes live on the board immediately, with a countdown everyone can see.

2

Donors get alerted

Every volunteer who switched on alerts is notified within seconds. Matching donors appear sorted by distance from the hospital, so the nearest possible help surfaces first.

3

Confirm and donate

The requester reveals the contact safely, confirms the requirement with the blood bank, and the donor walks in with an ID. Afterwards the family marks the request fulfilled — which keeps the board honest for the next one.

Privacy by default

Your number is never on public display

A donor’s phone number never appears on any public page. It is revealed only when a requester actively taps “Show contact”, and every browser is rate-limited to discourage scraping, spam and harassment. The full privacy policy explains exactly what we store — and what we never store.

One donation can save up to three lives

One whole-blood donation separates into red cells, plasma and platelets — up to three patients helped by a single ten-minute visit. Your body replaces the fluid within a day; someone else keeps a lifetime.
